Manon Briod (*1988, CH) completed her studies in product design at the University of Art and Design in Lausanne (ECAL), followed by a Master's degree in Experimental Design at the Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst (HGK) in Basel. Her current research is centred on bacterial biopolymers, captivated by the fluidity and transience of a material that naturally degrades over time, leaving no lasting imprint. From this space of improvisation has emerged multiple artistic collaborations, each providing a platform to explore object design as a critical domain of gesture and utility. Her work examines industrial production and consumption processes through the lens of their socio-ecological impacts. She frequently team up with a chef to create unusual meals, resulting in lively installations that often take unexpected turns for both guests and hosts.
