R.U.IN.ES
2025 – Lausanne
Invited by Léna Sophia Bagutti-Khennouf, Cie Subterfuga

This time, one of my bioplastics became part of Léna’s dance production, transforming into a tangible presence on stage. Poetically referred to by the team as “peau”, this 5-meter-long piece introduced a mineral dimension to the set. Its form recalled a cave fragment inscribed with a poem in Tifinagh - the ancestral script of the Berber languages of southern Algeria.

About R.u.in.es
R.u.in.es draws on an Algerian family history that is fading with time to invoke the ghosts of the flesh and the unresolved stories that haunt bodies across generations. Inspired by Berber mythology and Kabyle roots, Léna Sophia Bagutti delves into blurred memories, projections, and physical impressions fossilized in the body, seeking to reverse time and imagine new possibilities in the face of the destruction of Algerian heritage. Bringing a counter-narrative to life, rewriting fragments of a fading history in the present, with the conviction that dance can be a powerful act of preservation and resistance.
